Hi Dil, Traditionally, Japanese amigurumi is crocheted (or knit) in the round. There are heaps of fantastic patterns that aren't 'traditional', but are still called amigurumi.
I'm not bothered either way, but I tend to find crocheting in the round more enjoyable for some reason. Cheers, Jane :)
